You've seen the movie The Money Pit...you know the one with Tom Hanks and Shelly Long?
Yup. That's the one. The one where they get conned into buying this "nice house" for a steal. Only to discover it's falling apart at the seams. Literally crashing down around them.
That's my house.
Really it is.
From day one.
Sort of day one.
O.k. so here it is 4 1/2 years later and this is the status of my house...
The front door is getting ready to fall out.
NO, not fall off it's hinges....fall out the frame.
The ENTIRE frame!
My Kitchen wall just above the counter-top has a hole the size of a watermelon....why?
Well, because the kitchen sink has an invisible leak. I say invisible because we still haven't located the leak on the kitchen side. However, if you stick your hand inside that hole while someone is taking a shower you will find that the shower also has a leak. This explains the watermelon hole. Also there is a leak in my tub. Therefore, by the time we finally MOVE from here, the tub will plummet into the crawl space. Just like it did in the movie.
My kitchen sink will do the same because of the invisible leak.
This is why I don't feel too bad that we foreclose on our home next week.
Let them have it.
Let them fix it.
I'm moving on to better things.
I have NO IDEA where.....
or when for that matter....
that's o.k. though. I'm good with that. If God can find a home for all the birds...I'm sure he can find a home for us :)
p.s.
ReplyDeleteJust click on the picture of the bathtub to get a full perspective of what will happen. I'm sure this is how it will happen...the minute we lock the door behind us.
There is something to be said about renting. All repairs are the landlords problem. Blessings in your nrw home!
ReplyDeleteExactly! We will be renters and never turn back! Looking forward to it. Found a cute home off of 30 and F 1/2 road...praying we get it. It has everything on our list of wants (minus a fireplace but who's counting?)
ReplyDeleteKeep us in your prayers this month!
